Back to school with Radnor Hills
Over the past 12 months we have identified a clear shift in consumer demand toward healthier, more functional and sustainably produced drinks, particularly in categories where taste, wellbeing and environmental values combine.
Our research shows that consumers want healthy hydration, great taste and, because we’re still very much in a cost-of-living crisis, excellent value for money.
We have grown our portfolio with a number of new and innovative products that appeal to both established Radnor customers and also to new health-conscious audiences. This includes:
Product innovation and quality. The UK carbonated market size was valued at £10.5bn in 2025 in terms of value sales and 3 in 10 customers drink a carbonated soft drink daily. Research (Kantar Profiles/Mintel, 2026) shows that 16+ and 18+ drink carbonated soft drinks ‘to hydrate’ and to ‘treat themselves’ while 26% of UK adults drink a soft drink daily and 39% of 25-34 year olds drink one daily, more than 1 in 3. In January we introduced Radnor Spring, an exciting new low-calorie sparkling juicy drink range with added B vitamins. It is available in four fruity flavours in bottles which are 100% recyclable. Radnor Spring fills the gap for older teenagers and young adults. In the brand’s first month, almost 30 listings were secured, including with two national distributors in foodservice, and we made sales of 250,000 bottles. To give retailers great profit margins, since March we have also offered Radnor Spring in £1 price-marked packs and have seen a 100% listing update.
Lunchbox friendly formats and a collaboration with Disney. To celebrate the live-action reimagining of their 2002 animated classic Disney Lilo & Stitch, Radnor Fruits launched three character-inspired flavoured drinks in 200ml lunchbox-ready Tetra Pak cartons. The drinks align with government guidelines of school foods standards and are CQUIN and HFSS compliant. The drinks contain 50% Radnor Hills spring water, 50% real fruit juice and no added sugar. Our partnership with Disney via Tetra has strengthened product performance at shelf – with increased shelf presence, instant recognition and stopping power, and clear differentiation versus competitors. Between October last year and March this year we sold 1.2m individual Disney Tetra cartons into the UK market. In addition, we’ve activated support at fixture, most recently in March this year with a shelf barker across 180 stores. We’re seeing branded and licensing products like this really fuelling the growth of the category and parents are looking for products that they can trust, that their kids will enjoy and are perfect for lunchboxes, travel or daily hydration.
We’re thrilled to be continuing this exciting collaboration with our new Disney Toy Story 5 cartons of Radnor Fruits.
Radnor Fizz is our popular, school-compliant sparking fruit juice drinks which blends natural spring water with real fruit juice to create a healthier, no-added-sugar beverage that counts towards a child’s 5-a-day. Sold in smaller bottles, Fizz is great for lunch packs too.
Healthy hydration. In January we launched Radnor Hydrate, a clean and simple drink blending 60% juice with 40% natural spring water, compliant with HFSS, school nutrition standards and suitable across retail, education, healthcare and workplace channels. It is a celebration of simplicity for healthy hydration.
Great value from our best-selling Radnor Splash, introduction of some new flavours and a new sports pack, perfect for older children 10+: We know that retailers are facing big challenges due to inflation, so we wanted to buck the trend and offer them great profit margins while also driving consumer trust and giving added value. Last year we launched our first ever price-marked packs with our flagship brand Radnor Splash – a market leader and one of the best-selling flavoured water brands in the UK. Radnor Splash, a family favourite in UK households for over 20 years, is currently growing over 3 times faster than the total grocery flavoured water category and over 7 times faster than the market leader. In April we added two new flavours – Cherry and Summer Fruits – to our range of Radnor Splash. We also unveiled a new premium look with colourful tethered crystal caps to bring the look of our bottles bang up to date. We expect them to appeal to a wider market, particularly children 10+. Based on Radnor Sales Out Data, we are already seeing an increasing demand for our Cherry flavour.
