2018
Zero Waste to Landfill
We are committed to making sure zero waste goes to landfill and have an expert team to facilitate this. We have invested in an entire recycling facility on-site to manage any of our waste to ensure absolutely nothing goes to landfill. Operating as zero to landfill also means we are supporting a circular economy, sending any waste, including our plastic, back to the source to be reused and recycled.
Protecting our planet, we call our home!
We have built an onsite recycling plant, which helps us achieve our zero to landfill pledge. Watch now as Sarah, Radnor Hills Recycling Team Leader, talks about how our recycling plant works and why it is an integral part of Radnor.
Sourcing recycled PET bottles!
We are proud that our PET bottles are made up from 30% recycled materials. This is important for us to support our customers with sustainably sourced packaging. Even our shrink wrap is 100% recyclable and made up of 30% recycled plastic. We were the first in the industry to do this.
2019
Locally Sourced Cans
Where possible, Radnor will aim to source packaging and ingredients locally, to reduce transport emissions. For example, we source our cans from a supplier 59 miles from our production site.
2023
Renewable Energy
In 2023, we had an onsite solar farm build, which generates 25% of our electricity. The remainder of our electricity comes from renewables. Using renewable energy is key to limit emissions from our production site.
2024
Sustainability Award Winner!
In 2024, we were proud to win the Wales Food and Drink Sustainable Business of the Year 2024! This was a proud moment for us to be recognised for our sustainability efforts!
ISO 14001 Audit
Our environmental management system and site has been certified to ISO 14001 standard. Environmental sustainability is at the forefront for Radnor Hills and we are committed to minimising our impact. As a producer of soft drinks, Radnor Hills exists as one step in a process that flows from raw materials through to consumer and to the end of life of a product. To identify the outcome of our footprint, a PESTEL exercise was undertaken and this model is attributed to the outcomes of our Environmental Management System. The implementation of our Environmental Management System began in 2018 and has been certified to ISO 14001:2015 standard. Our environmental policy publicly summarises our commitments to environmental impacts and improvements within our day-to-day activities.
Future Goal
On our way to Net Zero by 2045
At Radnor we are aiming to be net-zero by 2045. We have submitted our net zero plan to Science Based Target Initiative to showcase how we aim to achieve this!
