Radnor Hills Raises over £6800 for local charity
Heartstock 2011 was the most succesful Charity Rock Festival so far, raising money for St Micheals Hospice, Herefordshire. Despite the rain this year spirits were not dampend and Radnor Hills staff, family & friends turned up in their 100’s to support the event held at Heartsease, Knighton.
The evening commenced with live music from the headline band The Chiefs, with lead singer Willam Watkins MD of Radnor Hills, along with fellow band members, Julian Rogers, Jo Hilditch, David Rees & Mike Verdin.
More music followed from The Walking Dots, featuring Robb Whiteman, performing both covers and some of their own written music. Then followed The Indians, a new young band including singers Katie Watkins & Willa Hilditch. Finally rounding up the evening were the local Knighton boys ‘Skinny Bones’ with lead singer Adam Olds, Gareth Rowlands and John Beavan.
Hot Food was served during the evening from both Capers and Sean Davies mobile Catering, alongside a licensed bar run by Radnor Hills Staff. All proceeds from which going towards the fund raising.
Children were entertained with a bouncy castle, sweet sales and ice-creams. A true festival atmosphere was created with a bonfire, wrist bands, ponchos & wellies and a fully lighted stage for the acts. We were delighted to see people dressed up in the fancy dress ROCK theme!
The event was kindly supported by many of Radnor Hills suppliers of whom there are too many to mention, but details of these and photos of the evening can be found on the www.heartstock.co.uk website. Special thanks to HSBC Bank in Knighon for a generous £1000 donation.
William Wakins (left) wishes to take this opportunity to thank the band members & organisers, all who attended and the many sponsors, who combined contributed to the fantastic £6878.75 total raised for St Mcheals Hospice. The hospice provides specialist palliative care for people who have active and progressive life-limiting conditions, and support for and services for their families and friends.
